Full Description

Over 6000 silver coins of the reign of Henry II were found within a Roman waster vessel turned up during ploughing. The coins originated from a number of different mints. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}{7} The hoard was found in 1807 and was acquired by Sir Joseph Banks who distributed it among the British Museum, The Mint and various private collections. 5127 coins were melted down at The Tower. {8}
