Full Description

Two skeletons were found within the enclosure at Kingerby Manor in 1800 (or 1830?); the skeletons were 'buried in sawdust, with mosaic rings on their arms'. One of these 'mosaic rings' was a bronze penannular bracelet of middle to late Bronze Age type - of simple undecorated form, round in section with plain terminals. In 1963 this was in the possession of the owner of Kingerby Manor. {1}{2} Bronze bracelets (armillae) were found during the rebuilding of the Hall at Kingerby around the end of the eighteenth century. One of them was reported as being found on the arm bone of a human skeleton. {3}{4}{5}
