THE DESERTED MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OF CROXBY LIES IN THE BOTTOM AND ALONG THE SIDES OF A NARROW CHALK VALLEY. CROXBY HAD A MINIMUM POPULATION OF 36 IN DOMESDAY BOOK. THE MAIN EARTHWORKS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION ALTHOUGH THE NORTH WEST PART OF THE SITE HAS BEEN PLOUGHED OVER AND DESTROYED. FOR MORE DETAIL SEE EVERSON, TAYLOR AND DUNN. {2}, HTM 60 M
