Full Description

THE SITE OF A C16 WARREN. A SMALL BLOCK OF WOODLAND CALLED 'THE CONNY GREE' WAS INCLUDED IN A DESCRIPTION OF THE PARK IN 1591. (MONSON MSS CVii HELD AT SOUTH CARLTON). THE PARK WAS STILL DESCRIBED AS HAVING ' THE LIBERTY AND FRANCHISE OF FREE WARREN' IN 1771 WHEN SOUTH KELSEY MANOR WAS MORTGAGED. THE CONNY GREE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SWEPT AWAY BY THE CREATION OF LANDSCAPED PARKLAND IN THE EARLY C19. {1}
