Full Description

Site of a round barrow destroyed in 1957 at TA 1068 0195 produced five burial urns each containing a cremation. Other finds from the area include flint scrapers, microliths, pigmy knives, blades, a late Palaeolithic (Magdalenian) handaxe; all found between 1957 and 1963. A flint borer was found on the surface at Sandbaes sandpit TA 1092 0188 in 1950. Possibly other finds of flint scrapers, microliths, Bronze Age pottery and burnt bone from the area centred TA 1073 0198. {1}{2}{3}
