Full Description

PRN 50356 POSSIBLE UNKNOWN PREHISTORIC CROPMARK BOUNDARY. {1}{2}, HTM 130-5 M A section of this feature was excavated in advance of the construction of a pipeline. It was found to be a substantial ditch, probably a boundary ditch. A small quantity of animal bone was found within the fill, including two pieces of antler which may be the remnants of picks of Neolithic type. The aerial photographic evidence suggests that the ditch pre-dates the Caistor High Street, and this along with the antler finds suggests that a Neolithic date for the feature is likely. {3}
