Full Description

THE MAJOR SURVIVING PART OF THE EARTHWORKS CONSISTS OF A SUB-RECTANGULAR MOATED SITE, PERHAPS MEDIEVAL IN ORIGIN. THE SURROUNDING WATER-DITCH IS 2-3M DEEP WITH TRACES OF A MUCH DAMAGED OUTER BANK. THERE ARE NOW TWO CAUSEWAYS GIVING ACCESS TO THE INTERIOR BUT THE WEST ONE IS PROBABLY MODERN. THE MOAT CONTAINS THE REMAINS OF A POST MEDIEVAL HOUSE AND GARDEN. {4}
