TO THE SW OF NETTLETON VILLAGE ARE EMPTY CLOSES WHICH WERE OCCUPIED BY BUILDINGS UNTIL THE LATE 17TH CENTURY, WHEN LANDSLIPS OVERWHELMED 25 HOUSES. THESE ARE LIKELY TO HAVE HAD A MEDIEVAL ORIGIN. {1}
