Full Description
A silver Roman denarius of Vespasian (AD 69-79) was recorded at Scunthorpe Museum in 1969. It was found 'many years ago' on land roughly 150m east-south-east of South Hills Farm. It was stamped on the obverse with 'IMP CAESAR VESPASIANUS AVG' and on the reverse with 'PON MAX TR P COS VI'. It was retained by the finder. {1}{2}
