Full Description

Several sherds of 13th - 15th century pottery were recovered during field walking on land at at Seaholme Road, Mablethorpe (TF 508 837). The site has the slight remnants of part of a ridge and furrow field system, suggesting that the site has been in agricultural/pastoral use since at least the medieval period. It is considered unlikely that post-Roman settlement features exist here. The site has been disturbed by the building of the railway. {1}{2} Earthworks of probable late medieval platforms covering a much larger area were identified on aerial photography by the National Mapping Programme. {3}{4}
