Full Description
THE STATION ON THE SINGLE TRACK LOUTH AND EAST COAST RAILWAY FROM LOUTH TO MABLETHORPE. LATER PART OF GNR, OPENED 17TH OCTOBER 1877. IT WAS CLOSED TO PASSENGERS AND GOODS FROM DECEMBER 1960. ALL THE TRACK WAS REMOVED FEBRUARY 1963. THE BUILDING WAS STILL STANDING IN 1967, AND WAS PRIVATELY OCCUPIED. THE STATION BUILDING WAS VERY SIMILAR IN STYLE TO OTHERS ON THE LINE, IE GRIMOLDBY AND SALTFLEETBY. MOST OF THE BUILDING WAS TWO STOREY, SINGLE STOREY AT EACH END. IT WAS BUILT OF BROWN BRICK WITH LIGHTER BANDS OF BRICK, AND SLATE ROOF. IT HAD A SINGLE PLATFORM. {1}
