PRN 43493 Archaeological evaluation of land to the west of the Anchor Inn revealed slight evidence of medieval activity. A number of ditches were identified, some containing pottery dating to the twelfth and fourteenth centuries. The remains of a pond, which was backfilled after the seventeenth century, may possibly date to the medieval period. {1}{2}
