Full Description
THE LINE WAS OPENED IN 1876, AND THE STATION WAS OPENED FOR PASSENGERS 1 AUG 1882. THE PLATFORM EDGE HAS BRICKS DATED 1896 AND 1897. AFTER CLOSURE THE PLATFORM WAITING ROOM WAS USED AS A METHODIST MEETING ROOM UNTIL C.1990 AND WAS THEN DEMOLISHED. IT WAS CLOSED FOR PASSENGERS 5 NOV 1951 AND TO GOODS 17 SEPT 1956. THE STATION PLATFORM IS THE ONLY PART WHICH SURVIVES, AND THIS IS LARGELY IN USE AS A RETAINING WALL FOR AN ADJACENT GARDEN. {1}
