Full Description
The remains of a small boat are visible, mostly buried in sand, on the beach at Mablethorpe. They are shown on aerial photographs provided by the Environmental Agency and taken in advance of beach nourishment works. {1}
The remains were photographed and partially excavated in September 1997. The remains are of a carvel built sailing vessel, possibly identified as the 'Georgio Avasoti', an Italian vessel. {2}{3}
