Full Description

Site of a former Second World War coastal defence battery. Comprised of a three-bay concrete anti-aircraft pillbox which faces east, with the nearby bases of former gunhouses for two 6" guns. The pillbox is of the Lincolnshire type 23 design, and is built of reinforced concrete with wood shuttering. {1}{2}{3} A photograph of the pillbox was taken in October 2007, during site visits conducted for the Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. {4} A further photograph of the pillbox was taken in 2008. The structure appeared to be in a relatively good condition at this time. {5}
