Full Description

Rectangular brick and concrete combined pillbox and infantry blockhouse. It has three embrasures facing west, with single embrasures facing north and south. There is a hook in the roof above each embrasure. Each entrance to the structure has a half height blast wall. {1}{2} The blockhouse was included in a survey of Second World War remains, recorded in July 2012 prior to works to renew the coastal flood defences between Tetney and Saltfleet. It was constructed of red brick laid in stretcher bond with a concrete floor and roof. Entrance steps were at both ends, allowing access from the north-east side. More of the structure was exposed and recorded in October 2012, during the subsequent groundworks for the renewal of the flood defences. The works also exposed a short length of walling, to the immediate north-east of of the blockhouse. The walling comprised two parallel lines of footings, thought to represent the remains of a demolished structure associated with the blockhouse. {3}{4}
