Full Description
Earthworks of medieval ridge and furrow, identified on aerial photography by the National Mapping Programme. {1}
Traces of the ridge and furrow were recorded during an earthwork survey, conducted in March 2015, in advance of proposed residential development on land at Vale Road. The remains were recorded as two distinct areas of parallel linear earthworks, located in the south-west and north-east of the site. The remains towards the south-west of the site were aligned on an east to west axis, whilst the group at the north-east were aligned on a north to south axis, indicating a division of the open field system in this area. {2}{3}
