Full Description
PROBABLE MEDIEVAL EARTHWORK RIDGE AND FURROW FIELD SYSTEM. {1}
Centered at approximately TF4060865697 an approximately rectangular area of ridge and furrow earthworks, measuring c. 115m by 76m. The earthworks were aligned roughly north-south, with the ridges being between 8m and 10m in width.{2}
Two hollows are located on eastern edge of field truncating the ridge and furrow. This has a later date than the ridge and furrow, and are probably ponds or drinking hollows for cattle.{2}
A slight bank and terrace was also identified of unknown date and function. This may be the remains of a headland from turning ploughs around.{2}
