The remains of a medieval standing stone cross stands within the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, Wainfleet St. Mary. The cross is located to the south-east of the south porch of the church. The monument is constructed of limestone, and includes the base of the cross and the lower part of the shaft. It has an octagonal shaft approximately one metre high with broached stops at ground level, and tapering towards the top.
