Full Description

Some 25 years ago (about 1908) there still existed a Beacon Hill but an enterprising farmer increased the depth of soil on one of his fields by using it and now all that remains is a field lately named Beacon Way. {1} The 1824 first edition 1 inch Ordnance Survey Map has a small circular mound marked just west of the junction of Church Lane and Beacon Way at TF54856550 - possibly the site of the beacon. {2}
