ONE OF FIVE DECOYS IN FRISKNEY PARISH RECORDED IN 1807. {1}
FRISKNEY NEW DECOY IS FOUR MILES SOUTH-WEST OF WAINFLEET AND THREE MILES FROM WAINFLEET STATION. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY BUT HAS NOT BEEN WORKED SINCE 1878. IT CONSISTED OF 1.5 ACRES OF WATER IN 14 ACRES OF WOODLAND. AT FIRST SIX PIPES WERE WORKED, THEN 4 AND AT THE END 3. THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL HOME OF GEORGE SKELTON, SENIOR. IT WAS WORKED BY JOHN SKELTON TILL 1860. {2}
