Our Lady's (St Mary's) bedehouse is mentioned in 1548 and 1557 and stood in Gulplyn Lane, now Schoolhouse lane. No surface remains survive. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}[6}[7}
The foundation dates from 1551 and is linked to the foundation of Edward VI's Grammar School. It was originally called Our Lady Bedehouse as the land belonged to St Mary's Guild of Louth before the guilds were discontinued. The hospital was for twelve poor people. {8}
