PRN 42776 Almshouses of 1870, with stone and terracotta details and a busy roof line. {1} Founded in 1668 by Sir Robert Christopher who bequeathed £550 for building an almshouse to house six poor women. Rebuilt in 1870 by the Right Honourable Lady Mary Christopher-Nisbet-Hamilton. Each inmate in 1870 received a small sum weekly and bread. Still used as an almshouse. {2} The almshouse is built from red brick; it has two blue bands with ashlar and terracotta dressings and a slate roof.
