Full Description

A Bronze Age socketed bronze axe found in Tetford Wood in 1957. The OS grid reference given is TF 3315 7601. {1}{2} A faceted socketed axe found on Tetford Hill in 1957. [Tetford Wood is on Tetford Hill.] The grid reference given is also TF 3315 7601 (as in the OS record above) but this grid reference is in Maidenwell parish some way from Tetford Wood. {3} The axehead is in Lincoln Museum. The six figure grid reference (TF 332 759) given in the Lincoln Museum records seems a more reasonable location. {4}
