THE DESERTED MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OF AILBY OR ALEBY SURVIVES AS VERY SLIGHT TRACES OF EARTHWORKS ON AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS. THESE ARE FIELD ROADS, DRAINAGE AND QUARRYING FEATURES. THE VILLAGE OF AILBY IS MENTIONED IN 1086 AND 1242 AND AS ALEBY IN RIGSBY IN 1334. {1}{2}{3}{4}
