Full Description

The north-west corner of the moat has been filled in although it is in a reasonably good state. To the south-west is a series of fishponds. {1}{2} A medieval or post medieval moat and fishponds visible as earthworks and recorded from aerial photographs by the National Mapping Programme. The moat is rectangular and some 60m by 65m. It may have had an entrance on its north side. The fishponds include at least four ponds with connecting water channels. There is a water course that enters the fishponds from the east and another that leads from the fishponds south to the river Steeping. {3} The LIDAR scans show evidence of small rectangular and square enclosed features and a moat. {4}
