PRN42216 Six of the thirteen scythe blades now fastened up the south aisle of the chancel of the church were found along with some skeletons at the top of Langton Hill, Horncastle in 1845. {1}{2} The scythes have been linked (without evidence) to the battle of Winceby and the Lincolnshire Rising of 1536. {3}
