Full Description

The remains of a chalk-lined pit or well were discovered during ploughing on land to the north-west of Welton le Marsh village. The exact date of the feature's construction could not be determined, although sherds of likely medieval pottery with a brown coloured fabric were recovered from the surrounding field, along with the handle from a medieval jug of orange coloured fabric. {1}
