Full Description

IN 1950 ROADWORKS AT PARTNEY REVEALED A BARROW c14' DIAMETER. THE EARTHWORK WAS LEVELLED AND THE REMAINS OF AT LEAST 2 ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN WERE FOUND. THESE HAVE BEEN DATED TO c600 AD. BRONZE FINDS INCLUDE 2 C6-C7 CRUCIFORM BRONZE BROOCHES, 3 ANNULAR BROOCHES, 2 BUCKLES AND A RING. ALSO 3 IRON SPEAR HEADS, A SHIELD BOSS AND IRON SHIELD HANDLE AND POT SHERDS ALSO FOUND. {1}{2}{3}
