Full Description

Late medieval/post-medieval pottery including Old Bolingbroke and Cistercian type manganese glazed wares. {1} Post-medieval activity was revealed in this location in May 2013, during an evaluation conducted to inform proposed development. 5 trial trenches were dug, with post-medieval pits and ditches being identified, along with the remains of a brick floored post-medieval structure and associated robber trench. An assemblage of 17th and 18th century finds were recovered from the features, including pieces of glass bottles, clay tobacco pipes, pottery and fragments of animal bone. {2}{3}
