Full Description

Roman occupation site. Finds include flanged tiles, glass, coins (of Tetricus senior and of the Antonines), a knife blade, blue glass beads, broken fibula and fragments of Samian with a potters mark. Immense quantities of Roman pottery found, probably a kiln site at 2 feet 6 inches to 4 feet 6 inches depth and pottery including mortaria was found scattered over the field area. C. W. Phillips noted a visible platform and burnt yellowish brick and red tile. {1}{2}
