PRN 41870 includes the now deleted records of 41899, 41869, 41853, 43735 Ordnance Survey records are quoted as stating that 24 cinerary urns were found in this area in 1838. One double handled urn is in the City and County Museum, Lincoln and another is in Grimsby Museum. {1}{2}{3} Roman cremation urns are recorded as being found on vicarage ground before 1857-8. {4}{5} Two Iron Age cremation urns are also recorded at this location, see PRN 42200. Roman cremation urns were found in 1858 on the site of the Union Workhouse. Other finds include mortarium fragments, Samian pottery, querns fibulae and bronze pins. {5}{6}{7} A residual sherd of probable Roman orange courseware, and a sherd of greyware was recovered at the former Highways Depot off Mareham Road. {8}{9}
