Full Description
The site of a now ploughed out round barrow. The large barrow was 60ft in diameter and c.12ft high with an 8ft deep ditch, 4ft away on the outside. The centre of the mound was 4ft, built of chalk and ash, with clay underneath a burnt red deposit. No pottery or grave goods were found. A central pit of 19th century date, which was used to bury a horse, was cut into the mound above the main burial. {1}{2}{3}
