Full Description
A Roman brothel token or spintria of the 1st century AD, found on Skegness Beach, near to the pier. The exact find location is not clear. {1}
Considerable doubt has been cast upon the authenticity of the token after analysis of photographs taken of the object was conducted. The token does not match any of the known dies for spintriae, and does not have the usual wreath or beaded border, and is consequently thought to be a probable modern copy. {2}
