Full Description
A rectangular moated site. Early this century the old house was pulled down and the moat filled in with earth. A path of shingle pebble was seen on the inner bank of the moat. Another such layer 6 inches down was seen during drain digging. Small bricks, medieval glazed pottery and a 'Roman cooking pot' were found together with small clay cylinders with finger grip marks. {1}{2}
The moat was plotted from aerial photographs by the National Mapping Programme and recorded as a late medieval moat. {3}
