Full Description

[Includes Monument PRN42882 which has now been deleted.] Area of salterns, thought to have been in use in 1595. Individual saltern mounds were identified at TA 3771 0068, TA 3738 0054, TA 3751 0026, TA 3801 0020, TA 3827 0005, TF 3847 9997. All of these sites are now under crop but show up as islands of high ground. {1} Air photo cover undertaken of saltern area. {2} Early aerial photograph shows salterns surviving as earthworks as well as cropmarks. {3} Saltern cropmarks were observed on aerial photographs by the National Mapping Programme. {4} Earthworks were observed on a site visit as part of the Lincolnshire Coastal Grazing Marsh project. {5}
