Full Description
EARLY 18TH CENTURY HOUSE OF L.SHAPE WITH AN E FRONT OF FIVE BAYS, TWO STOREYS, BRACKETED EAVES CORNICE, PITCHED ROOF AND PEDIMENTED DORMERS. THE DOORWAY (WITH ROMAN DORIC PILASTERS) IS SAID TO HAVE COME FROM CAPTAIN COOK'S HOUSE IN LONDON. {1}, HTM 61M
West Ashbu Manor, West Ashby. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with linked working buildings to all four sides of the yard. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within a Church and/or Manor farm group. Large modern sheds are located on the site. {2}
