PRN 40802 SHRUNKEN MEDIEVAL VILLAGE OF CLAXBY PLUCKACRE. EARLIEST MENTION OF THE SITE IS 1086. EARTHWORKS CAN BE SEEN LYING BETWEEN HALL FARM AND THE GRANGE. TRACES ARE NOT EXTENSIVE AND CONFINED TO FIELD BANKS, DITCHES AND AMORPHOUS EARTHWORKS. ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHURCH OF ST ANDREW'S. {1}{2}{3}{4} The National Mapping Programme have identified earthworks of buildings, tofts and ridge and furrow from aerial photographs. {5}
