Full Description
THE DMV OF THORESBY IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN NEAR THE PRESENT CHAPEL OF ST LAWRENCE, REVESBY. IN THE MID 12TH CENTURY WILLIAM I OF ROUMARE GAVE THE LAND TO FOUND REVESBY ABBEY AND RECOMPENSED THE VILLAGERS (11 FAMILIES) FOR DISPLACEMENT. THE VILLAGE IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE DOMESDAY BOOK OR IN THE LINDSEY SURVEY. {1}{2}
