TRENCH BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (S.SIDE) REVEALED A LAYER OF FLINT COBBLING ABOUT 18FT WIDE-PERHAPS A N-S ROADWAY. A FEW FRAGMENTS OF TILE WERE FOUND IN ASSOCIATION WITH IT.
