A complete medieval bronze seal with a handle which is fairly worn. It depicts Eve taking an apple from the tree of life in the Garden of Eden. The lettering is almost indecipherable but possibly reads, 'seal of.....mother of.....Walter'. It was found in the garden of a house in the middle of Wood Enderby. It was brought into the museum on 22/08/1977. {1} Four sherds of unstratified pottery were found during a watching brief at Back Lane. Two were Toynton ware jug sherds dating to the thirteenth-fourteenth century, and the other two were post medieval sherds. {2}{3}
