Full Description
IN 1856, A NUMBER OF CINERARY URNS WERE FOUND, ABOUT HALF A MILE FROM THE ROMAN ROAD FROM CAISTOR TO HORNCASTLE. TWO URNS OF YELLOW CLAY WERE FOUND, AND AN URN OF A DARK GREY FABRIC WERE DRAWN BY TROLLOPE; BUT NEITHER DRAWINGS NOR URNS ARE EXTANT.{1} THE AREA OF THE FINDS (APPROX TF194820) WAS VISITED, BUT NO EVIDENCE OF FORMER INDUSTRY WAS NOTED.
