SHERD OF ANGLO-SAXON OR BEAKER POTTERY FOUND FROM OLD SANDPIT, SOUTH WILLINGHAM, IN 1975.{1} FROM THE SAME SITE, IN 1856 A NUMBER OF CINERARY URNS WERE FOUND, ABOUT HALF A MILE FROM THE ROMAN ROAD FROM CAISTOR TO HORNCASTLE. TWO URNS OF YELLOW CLAY WERE FOUND, AND AN URN OF A DARK GREY FABRIC WERE DRAWN BY TROLLOPE; BUT NEITHER DRAWINGS NOR URNS ARE EXTANT.{2}
