PRN 40317
RB TILE AND POTTERY FROM TWO SITES. POTTERY INCLUDES GREYWARE AND COLOUR- COATED WARE. FOUND IN 1967-8, JUST SOUTH OF THE ROMAN ROAD LINE AND A LITTLE EAST OF THE RIVER BAIN, ON EITHER SIDE OF 200 FT CONTOUR.{1}
At TF 241 769 deep ploughing in a field by the River Bain at the point where Green Lane (a Roman Road) crosses it brought a large quantity of tile and pottery to the surface. The tiles were decorated with scratch pattens and could well be hypocaust remnants. {2}
