PRN 40316 THREE SITES (TF237762, TF238763, TF241762) PRODUCING ROMAN POTTERY, COARSE WARE, SAMIAN, TILES AND SLAG (FROM POSSIBLE KILN SITE). FOUND BY THE RESIDENT OF HIGHFIELD HOUSE, WHO HAS RETAINED THE MATERIAL, REPORTED IN 1962.{1} SITE (TF24057619) PRODUCING ROMAN POTTERY AND SLAG REPORTED IN 1962. FOUND DURING DEEP PLOUGHING (20 INCHES) IN 1962 BY THE RESIDENT WHO INDICATED THE EXACT SPOT AT TF23767619. THERE ARE SEVEN LARGE BOXES OF MATERIAL AT HIGHFIELD HOUSE; IT EMBRACES COARSE WARE, SAMIAN, BURNT TILE AND STONE, AND LOOSE TILE. HANDLES AND BASES HAVE BEEN TURNED UP. CITY AND COUNTY MUSEUM SUGGEST THIS MAY BE A KILN SITE.{2}
