Full Description
THREE PIECES OF SAMIAN WARE AND SOME GREYWARE WERE FOUND IN A GRAVEL PIT NEAR KIRKBY BETWEEN CONINGSBY AND ROUGHTON. THE SAMIAN SHERDS WERE FRAGMENTS OF A LARGE BOWL OF DRAG. 37 IDENTIFIED BY B R HARTLEY AS CENTRAL GAULISH AND ANTONINE. THE POTTER MAY POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN CELTUS OF LES MARTRES DE VEYRE (C.G.P. FIG 42.1) INFORMATION FROM SHEFFIELD MUSEUM.{1} SECOND NOTE TO MORE ROMANO-BRITISH SHERDS FOUND BY PERSON UNKNOWN. CITY AND COUNTY MUSEUM ACC NO. 205.77
