PRN 40034
One of two bone skates found near an 'ancient canoe' in 1848, when the Great Northern Railway was built at Stixwould Ferry. The skate may possibly be a runner to facilitate removal of boat from the water. Now in the Museum of Antiquities, Edinburgh. {1}{2}
A dug-out boat was found in 1848 at TF 159 648. {3}
