PRN 35083 DURING EXCAVATION OF AN EVALUATION TRENCH AT UFFINGTON ESTATE GOLF COURSE AN EARLY NEOLITHIC BOWL WAS REVEALED IN A SMALL PIT. IT IS GRIMSTON-LYLES HILL STYLE, AND WAS INVERTED, AND WAS ALMOST CERTAINLY BURIED INTACT. SUCH A FIND IS UNCOMMON AND IN THIS CASE THE VESSEL IS MADE WITH MATERIALS NOT AVAILABLE LOCALLY. THE PIT CONTAINED NO ITEMS OTHER THAN THIS VESSEL. NO OTHER FINDS OF THIS DATE WERE RECORDED IN THE VICINITY APART FROM A FEW FLINT FLAKES. {1}{2}
