Full Description

A large number of Neolithic flints, including leaf-shaped arrowheads and long, thin blades, were found in 1979, during field walking on land to the west of Glebe Farm, Ropsley and Humby. The site is on a sandy hummock, at the junction of the Lincolnshire Limestone and Upper Estuarine Clays. The majority of the flints are of early Neolithic character, though the assemblage also includes a small number of microliths, suggesting some Mesolithic activity here. {1}
