Full Description
523 sherds of mainly greyware Roman pottery were found in 1979, during field walking on land to the east of Roplsey. The material was recovered from the Upper Estuarine clayey soils, adjacent to the junction with the limestone. The dense concentration of the artefacts and could indicate the location of a Roman farmstead or settlement. Three fragments of Roman tile were also recovered. {1}
